Every writing project (40+ samples below) begins with one thing: researching your target audience. Nothing else matters when you’re trying to connect with your prospective customers, clients or followers.
Many years ago when I first started working for a national advertising agency, I was given some industrial-strength advice from a Madison Avenue world-class writer: think less about you and your products and think more about the reader. It’s how Fortune 500 companies have been marketing to their audiences for 70+ years.
Every writing project I work on begins with one question: who is your target audience? If you don’t know or need help researching their VALS (values and lifestyles) needs, I will be happy to handle the research. It’s not rocket science. However, it does help pinpoint who your buyers and prospects are and how they perceive marketing content.
Honestly, since the evolution of online digital marketing, VALS no longer supports segmenting your audiences into traditional buyer types (i.e. innovators, thinkers, believers etc).
Instead, I take the approach connecting with your audience on both the emotional and technological interest plateau. Then craft persuasive reasons (i.e. testimonials, product/service benefits) to move your prospects further down the buying process.
Inbound marketing is a fabulous way to drive traffic to your site. But how? Easy buttons? Nope. Think search engine optimization. Writing sample: INBOUND 101
The above writing samples were for large Fortune 500 companies. If yours isn’t as prestigious please note I work with clients of all sizes. Ideally your goals are logical and audience-centric. Whether you’re selling iMacs or ice skates, as long as we can agree to the theme and target audience of your content, we’ll get along thick as thieves.
My name is Peter David Gustafson. If you are considering my writing expertise for your next project, please note I work on a first-come first-served basis.
I do not sub-contract my services to other freelancers. All writing, editing and proofreading are performed by myself. Feel free to contact me if you’re interested in chatting by telephone. If you’re brave enough, ring me up on my cell directly by dialing 207-602-0299. I reside in the Eastern Time Zone. If you’re pressed to meet a deadline, I do make special considerations.
‘Forget about it’ as they say in the mafia. Don’t worry about asking your IT nerd to post content on your site. I work in nearly all popular CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal and Magento. If you’re wondering how to tag specific content for SEO meta data, relax, I got you covered.
